1000 Miglia Experience UAE Rally Unveils $150 million lineup of vehicles

 9 November 2022, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: 1000 Miglia Srl – the Italian company that organises the 1000 Miglia, also known as “The Most Beautiful Race in the World” – and Octanium Experiences LLC are proud to announce an extraordinary lineup of participants and partners for the highly anticipated 1000 Miglia Experience UAE Jubilee Edition, taking place from December 4-8, 2022. This event is supported by the UAE Ministry of Interior and the UAE Government Media Office.

The 1000 Miglia Experience UAE is set to become the largest classic car regularity rally ever held in the GCC, with 100 teams participating from around the globe. These vehicles have already begun their long journey to the United Arab Emirates, with entries coming from as far afield as the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Italy, India, Switzerland and Lebanon.

Highlights from an outstanding lineup of classics include:

• 1927 OM 665 “Superba”– a similar model won the first 1000 Miglia in 1927
• 1952 Porsche 356 which competed in the famously gruelling South American 1953 Panamericana rally, with Gautamalan coffee mogul Manfredo Lippman at the wheel
• 1964 Lincoln Continental – bought by the then-Pope for his tour of India in 1964. It was then presented to Mother Teresa to be auctioned off for charity, and remains in India to this day
• 1958 Messerschmitt FMR TG 500 Roadster – the smallest and boldest vehicle in the event
• The highest number of Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings – widely considered the fastest car in the world in the 1950s – ever seen in the UAE, with 10 owners set to attend
• 1958 Ferrari 250GT California LWB Spyder – one of the rarest and most valuable Ferraris ever made
• 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘Periscopo’ – the first version of the legendary Countach supercar

The event will be attended by a number of high-profile VIPs, influencers and international guests enjoying this new chapter in the illustrious history of the 1000 Miglia.

On December 4, Octanium Experiences LLC will host an Opening Day at the Dubai Creek Golf Club open to the public to attend without charge. At this event, all participant vehicles will be on display at the lush verdant greens of the Dubai Creek Golf Club, surrounded by the best of UAE car culture and fully supported by the top influential car clubs and communities in the nation. In addition, the launch day includes practical training for the competitors and technical scrutineering of the participating vehicles.

On December 5, the teams will commence their epic adventure from the start line of the Creek Golf Club, beginning a truly epic journey covering all seven Emirates in a challenging 1,600km road course – a feat never attempted before by a classic car event in the UAE.

From Dubai the rally heads via the hillside hamlet of Hatta to the sinewy coastline of Fujairah for an overnight stay, then changes course inland to the rocky expanse of Ras Al Khaimah where the vintage automobiles will put their mechanical ability to the ultimate test: the soaring Jebel Jais road, a strident challenge for even modern vehicles.

After a relaxing overnight sojourn, the rally continues down the western UAE shores via the exotic mangroves of Umm Al Quwain, the seaside delights of Ajman, then curves inward to the towering red sand dunes and majestic ancient archaeological sites of Sharjah, before returning to Dubai for a final and second evening concluding at the Queen Elizabeth 2. On the final day, the rally heads to Abu Dhabi via Yas Marina Circuit for the grand finale at the majestic Emirates Palace Hotel.
